Living the Cross is a God-centric ministry that reaches people for Jesus where they are. We do not try to trick them into coming and hearing the Gospel; instead, we offer a relevant alternative to the worlds opinion and views through God-centric messages, retreats, blogs, writings, and podcasts. Never forgetting our charge, "do the work of the evangelist."

Richard's heart and passion has always been in evangelism. Every church he has psstored has baptized 20% or more of their Sunday school attendance annually. He has been recognized by the Baptist General Convention of Texas and the Southern Baptist Texas Convention for church growth. Richard has been a church planter in the middle of the Texas Metro-plex. He has held many revivals in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Pennsylvia.
Richard does not believe in "saying some words and getting them wet." Instead, he believes in building relationships and discipling people to be followers of Christ.

| Pastoring |

Richard and his family moved from Texas to California to pastor First Baptist Church, Dunsmuir, California, in June 2009. This small church is located in the mountains of northern California on interstate 5. FBC is the third church Richard has pastored in twelve years. |

| Community Ministries |
|
| |
Being a servant in the heart of a community is the focus of Richard’s ministry philosophy. Like Jesus, Richard believes in serving first. Serving as a photographer for the high schools activity, hosting the Community Christmas Baskets, having a monthly movie night for the children, food pantry, firewood ministry, Children Summer Lunch Program, and many other activities are all part of a servant ministry. Now, with the start of Picking Up The Pieces LTC believes it will touch, change, and refocus lives in and around the community. |

Blogging, along with podcasting has become a “world wide” phenomena. Living the Cross uses blogging to make commentary, clarify positions, or post something we find interesting. Blogging is another tool that we use to reach people for Jesus. |
